In an exciting update for music festival enthusiasts, the renowned Tomorrowland festival might be making its way to Thailand in 2026. This news comes amidst reports and subsequent clarifications from Tomorrowland representatives regarding the festival’s expansion plans.
Courtney Longhurst, reporting on the development, shared that Debby Wilmsen, a spokesperson for Tomorrowland, addressed rumors about the festival’s Thailand debut. Wilmsen confirmed that while Tomorrowland is indeed exploring the possibility of hosting an event in Thailand, no definitive plans have been made. “Tomorrowland has a real interest in Thailand and is seriously exploring the possibility of a festival in the Kingdom. For now, Tomorrowland explores the feasibility of such a project. At this stage, there is no confirmation yet on an actual festival taking place, this is what the feasibility study will make clear,” Wilmsen stated, emphasizing the ongoing exploration process and the honor of being welcomed by Thai authorities.
The buzz around Tomorrowland’s potential expansion into Thailand was further fueled by comments from government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke. Chai revealed that both Tomorrowland and Japan’s Summer Sonic music festival are being considered to make their Thailand debut. According to Chai, hosting these international music festivals aligns with the government’s policy to boost tourism and the economy, with the ambition of establishing Thailand as a global festival hub.
Chai also highlighted the successful planning for Summer Sonic Bangkok 2024, set to occur this August at Impact Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi province. This marks the festival’s first ASEAN leg and its second occurrence outside Japan. An official press conference is slated for March 27th to discuss further details about Summer Sonic Bangkok 2024.
For Tomorrowland, if plans proceed, the festival could see a decade-long presence in Thailand starting from 2026. This move is part of broader discussions involving Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and organizers of other renowned festivals and events, including the Formula One Group, Formula E, and Art Basel, aimed at enhancing Thailand’s global festival and events portfolio.
Meanwhile, Tomorrowland continues to captivate audiences worldwide, with its 2024 edition in Boom, Antwerp, Belgium, already sold out. The festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer, promises an extraordinary lineup across 16 stages, under the theme ‘LIFE.’ Festival-goers can anticipate performances from over 400 artists, including ACRAZE, Adam Beyer, Afrojack, Alesso, and many more, uniting 400,000 People of Tomorrow from over 200 countries.
As the prospect of Tomorrowland in Thailand continues to unfold, fans and authorities alike are eager for official confirmations and further details on what could be a landmark event for the Kingdom’s festival scene.
