Despite reports from various media outlets citing Thai government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke about a confirmed Tomorrowland event in Thailand in 2026, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen has clarified the situation to EDM.com. While there’s an interest in expanding to Thailand, Wilmsen stresses that the process is still in the “due diligence phase” with no definite plans as of yet.
“In December, we had the honor of discussing potential locations for a Tomorrowland festival in Thailand with various stakeholders,” Wilmsen shared with EDM.com. “The enthusiasm and support have been overwhelming, but we want to make it clear that nothing has been officially confirmed or signed at this stage. Our team is committed to thoroughly exploring all aspects to determine the feasibility of hosting Tomorrowland in Thailand.”
Furthermore, claims regarding the planning of 10 consecutive Tomorrowland festivals in Thailand were also addressed by Wilmsen, denoting them as premature and unfounded at this moment.
As the festival organizers continue to explore this new venture, their primary focus remains on the upcoming 20th anniversary of Tomorrowland in Belgium. Wilmsen expressed gratitude towards the Thai authorities for their eagerness to host the festival and reaffirmed the commitment to evaluating the feasibility of such a project.
“Tomorrowland is very honored by the interest from Thailand and is seriously considering the possibility of bringing the festival to the Kingdom,” Wilmsen added. “However, at this stage, the exploration is ongoing, and no confirmation on an actual festival can be made. The outcome of our feasibility study will provide the necessary clarity.”
In the meantime, Tomorrowland has successfully expanded to other locations, including a recent announcement of a new edition of their CORE offshoot in Medellín, Colombia, set for May 11-12 at the Botanical Garden of Medellín.
The flagship Tomorrowland festival in Belgium is expected to draw 400,000 attendees over two weekends in July, with a lineup boasting names like Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, and Hardwell, among others, in celebration of the brand’s 20th anniversary.
