Support Campaign for Balearic Legend DJ Alfredo Underway

A heartfelt initiative has been set in motion to gather financial support for the esteemed Balearic music pioneer, DJ Alfredo, who is currently facing significant medical challenges. At the age of 71, Alfredo Fiorito, known affectionately to the music world as DJ Alfredo, encountered a serious health setback following a stroke in 2021. This unfortunate event has since necessitated ongoing medical supervision and care, which he is receiving in a retirement home setting.

In response to the mounting medical expenses, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched by an individual known as Secret DJ, aiming to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by Alfredo and his son, Jaime Fiorito. The campaign seeks to ensure that Alfredo can continue to receive the necessary medical attention and live comfortably.

“Many of you have already extended your support, yet the reality is that private healthcare remains a continuous expense,” Secret DJ articulated on the crowdfunding platform. The goal is not only to sustain Alfredo’s current level of care but also to enhance his quality of life, including facilitating outings for fresh air.

With a fundraising target set at £30,000, the campaign is nearing its goal, still requiring just under £4,000 to reach it. Secret DJ highlighted the significant cost of a year’s care, estimated at around £12,000, underscoring the importance of each donation towards future care needs.

This fundraiser marks the second such initiative for Alfredo, who previously had to seek financial assistance in 2021 due to the socioeconomic impacts of his stroke and the global COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, a range of T-shirts was also sold to help alleviate his living and medical expenses.
