In an exciting development for dance music enthusiasts, Coachella 2024 has announced the debut of a unique stage designed specifically for marathon DJ sets. This new addition, named the Quasar stage, symbolizes the festival’s commitment to enhancing the electronic music experience for its attendees.

According to an announcement shared on social media by the festival organizers, the Quasar stage will feature “extended 3+ hour sets,” including highly anticipated back-to-back (B2B) performances. These sets will involve artists who were not part of Coachella’s original lineup, adding an element of surprise and exclusivity to the festival’s offerings.

The Quasar stage is set to host one extraordinary set each day of the festival. The opening day, Friday, April 12, will see a B2B performance by Chicago house music legends Honey Dijon and Green Velvet. On Saturday, April 13, Michael Bibi of Solid Grooves fame will make a significant return to the stage after his recent battle with cancer. The first weekend will conclude with a groundbreaking B3B set featuring Jamie xx, Floating Points, and Daphni on Sunday, April 14.

For the second weekend, the Quasar stage lineup promises to captivate audiences with performances from some of the most sought-after electronic music artists of the past year. Grammy-winning trio RÜFÜS DU SOL is scheduled for Friday, April 19, followed by a collaborative set by melodic techno maestros Eric Prydz and Anyma on Saturday, April 20. The festival will wrap up with vibrant club beats from a Diplo and Mau P B2B set on Sunday, April 21.

In addition to the Quasar stage, Goldenvoice, the organizers behind Coachella, revealed plans last month to relocate and revamp the iconic Sahara Tent. This move is part of the festival’s ongoing efforts to refresh its offering and enhance the overall experience for festival-goers.

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is set to return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, from April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2024. While weekend passes have already sold out, there is still an opportunity for fans to join the waitlist for weekend one or purchase tickets for weekend two.

This announcement serves as a testament to Coachella’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of the festival experience, especially for fans of electronic music. With the introduction of the Quasar stage, attendees can look forward to immersive, extended sets that promise to be a highlight of the festival.
